How to capitalise on AI as a designer?
These days I am putting together the materials for the next month’s workshop on AI and design which will be a great crash course for designers who are keen to integrate powerful AI tools in their design workflow. The workshop will cover a range of topics, from beginner to intermediate and expert levels, all in one place. This means there is no need to search online for bits of information scattered across the internet.
I’m so excited to meet our new cohort soon so if you feel that this is something for you, don’t miss the opportunity and register today by using a 20% discount on registration by entering the promo code: 20NEWSLETTER
A lot of people underestimate the power of AI in business, therefore, I’d like to talk about few different ways in which I have been able to capitalise on AI as well as other possible ways that I have seen others pursue.
All of these avenues require a great level of both understanding AI as a technology and also proficiency in using them for design purposes.
Offer design or consultation services to brands
One of the earliest opportunities that came my way and helped me to not only capitalise on my AI design skills but also provide a great creative outlet was working with a retail brand. They hired me as a consultant and designer to work with their team and design one of their shops.
As they were a globally known brand, they had a very specific theme for their store design, which made the brief much more interesting.
Even after finishing the project, they wanted to keep in touch to continue our collaboration on future projects.
Offer teaching and training services
As many of you already know, I have been teaching architects and other designers about the potential of AI for the past couple of months. It has been a great privilege for me personally. To be honest, I enjoyed teaching even before AI, when I was teaching courses on architecture and portfolio design.
As AI is still a very new topic in the design community, I feel like anyone with good knowledge of AI and communication skills should go and teach their peers. Apart from private workshops and courses, there are so many businesses, such as architecture, fashion, interior design, and many other design companies, that are looking for people with the right skillsets to train their workforce on using AI technology.
Create handy resources for designers
One of the great things for the designer community is gathering great resources, such as prompt guides. This type of resource can be very handy, especially for those who are just starting to learn more about AI. I could definitely see a great market for such resources that could help thousands of designers integrate AI into their design workflow.
Be open to collaborating with art directors and other creatives
If you are an architect or any other designer, be open to collaborating on marketing projects or with creative directors or art directors who are interested in your AI skills.
I have been approached several times by various organisations or individuals to work on marketing projects. Unfortunately, we didn’t find a perfect fit for the project. However, all of these projects were exciting, fun, and had great budgets!
I hope this blog was able to inspire you to start capitalising on your AI skills.
